Description

Building a dedicated space for your fitness routine at home is the first step to a more consistent, effective workout. At HeavySets, we know that the right foundation is everything. Our flooring collection is designed to provide that essential layer of protection and comfort, starting with the perfect solution for home workouts, bodyweight training, and light equipment use.

We believe you shouldn’t need an industrial space to start your fitness journey. Our core offering focuses on a high-density EVA foam puzzle exercise mat that is lightweight, easy to install, and incredibly versatile. It’s the ideal entry point for creating a defined workout zone in a spare bedroom, living room, or home office. The soft, cushioned surface provides essential underfoot comfort for floor-based exercises, stretching, and yoga, while the durable, closed-cell construction protects your existing floor from scratches and scuffs caused by exercise equipment. Plus, the water-resistant foam is simple to wipe clean, ready for your next session.

This interlocking mat system is designed for total flexibility, allowing you to start small and expand as your training area grows. With a simple jigsaw installation, no tools or adhesives are required. For those who are incorporating free weights, we will be expanding our collection to include heavy-duty rubber tiles designed to absorb impact and protect your subfloor from the most demanding heavy lifts. For now, start smart, protect your space, and build a training floor that supports every rep.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Is this EVA foam mat suitable for a home gym with heavy weights?
This mat is excellent for floor protection under cardio equipment, yoga, and bodyweight workouts. It is not designed for dropping heavy free weights from height. For heavy deadlifts or Olympic lifting, we recommend exploring dedicated heavy-duty rubber gym flooring tiles that provide the necessary shock absorption. We are working on adding these to our collection soon.

Will the puzzle mats stay securely connected on a smooth floor?
Yes. The interlocking edges are designed to hold the tiles firmly together, creating a single, unified mat that resists separating during most workouts. On very smooth surfaces like polished hardwood or laminate, placing the mat so it is anchored by a wall or a piece of light equipment will prevent any potential sliding. For a more permanent solution, a non-slip underlay can be used.

How do I clean and maintain my EVA foam exercise mats?
Maintenance is simple. The closed-cell EVA foam is water-resistant, so you can wipe away sweat and spills with a damp cloth and a mild, non-abrasive household cleaner. Avoid using harsh chemicals or a steam mop, as excessive heat can damage the foam. Allow the mats to dry completely before rolling them up for storage.

How do I calculate how many tiles I need for my room?
Measure the length and width of your intended workout area in meters. Multiply these two figures to get the total square meterage. Each pack of our mats covers a specific area (please check the product listing for details), so you can divide your total area by the pack coverage to find the number of packs you need. We always recommend adding an extra 5-10% to account for cuts and shaping around awkward corners.

Does EVA foam flooring have a strong smell?
New EVA foam can sometimes have a slight, harmless manufacturing odour upon first opening. This is completely normal and non-toxic. The smell will typically dissipate within a few days if the mats are left to air out in a well-ventilated space. You can speed up the process by wiping them down with a mild soap and water solution.
